Practice Areas

Our American justice system is one of the best in the world.  However, sometimes a trial goes wrong, sometimes mistakes are made, and sometimes  judgment is entered wrongly.  When that happens, a client may have no choice but to file an appeal.  A case does not always end at trial.

Zane G. Williams has developed a practice focused, in part, on appeals.  He has handled numerous cases in the Missouri Court of Appeals and in the Missouri Supreme Court.  He also has experience with filing for extraordinary writs, a process that lets you seek an appellate court ruling before a case goes to trial.

We believe that to be a good appellate lawyer, you have to try cases, and we put that belief into practice.  All of our attorneys are trial lawyers, and if a case is decided wrongly, we have the experience and skills to seek appellate review.

If you are looking for an appellate lawyer at Lake of the Ozarks, please contact us to see if we can help.

Condominium Law

The Lake of the Ozarks is a prime location for vacation condominiums. A condo can be a great way to experience the Lake life, and many are built and sold every year.

However, condominiums come with many legal issues. What rights does the owner’s association have to make changes to a condominium unit?  What responsibilities does a builder or developer have after the project is finished? Who pays for repairs if my unit is damaged in a flood or a fire?

Our attorneys have handled many cases involving condominiums at the Lake of the Ozarks. We have helped developers plat, build, and legally create condominiums from the ground up, and we have represented owners’ associations in all areas, from collecting overdue assessments from their members to dealing with insurance claims following the total loss of a building to fire.

If you have a condominium problem, please contact us today to see if we can help you.

Personal Injury

If you’ve been injured in an accident or on the job, and you settle with an insurance company without consulting an attorney, you may receive far less than you deserve. The insurance companies have attorneys working for them – why shouldn’t you? Our attorneys are experienced in handling personal injury and worker’s compensation cases and are available to discuss your options.

We have helped injured people for over 30 years with injuries ranging from sprains and strains to catastrophic and serious injuries. We have also represented families who have lost loved ones in wrongful death suits arising from an accident. We have handled numerous personal injury and wrongful death cases, including jury trials, and have obtained jury verdicts of up to a million dollars for our clients. Of course, past results are no guarantee of future results, and every case is different and must be judged on its own merits.

We represent our personal injury clients on a contingency fee basis. Clients may be responsible for costs and/or expenses of litigation, but there are no attorneys’ fees until we recover damages for you. If you have been injured in an accident or on the job, contact us. We offer free consultations for personal injury clients.

We accept personal injury clients injured in accidents anywhere in the state of Missouri.

If you are injured and can’t travel to us, we will come to you. Saturday appointments are also available. Call us today.

Since the adoption of planning and zoning in Camden County on June 1, 2004, we have successfully represented both homeowners concerned about the impact of development on their properties and developers seeking to obtain approval for their planned developments from the Planning and Zoning Commission or the Board of Adjustment. We have successfully prevented zoning change requests that would have harmed the value of surrounding properties. We have also assisted developers in designing projects which work with the surrounding neighborhood to enhance values and obtained approval of our client’s projects from the Planning and Zoning Commission, including a Planned Unit Development (PUD) encompassing an 11-story commercial resort, residential condominiums, townhouses, and a dry-stack marina facility.

Workers’ Compensation

Being injured on the job can be a life-changing experience. Injured workers commonly face resistance from their employer or their employer’s insurance company when making a worker’s compensation claim. You may be told that your injury was not work related, or that some of your injury is not covered. You may also be offered far less in compensation than you deserve.

We will work to get you a fair resolution of your worker’s compensation claim. We offer our services for worker’s compensation claims on a contingency fee basis, which means that you don’t owe us anything unless we obtain an award or settlement for you.

If you are injured and can’t travel to us, we will come to you. Saturday appointments are also available. Call us today.
